Today we will discuss rules of divisibility which is most important topic if you are a mathematics student or preparing for competitive exams. We will discuss it in details with examples.

Divisibility rule for 2:

A number ends with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 will be divisible by 2.

Divisibility rule for 3:

If the sum of digit of any number divisible by 3 then it will be divisible by 3.

Divisibility rule for 4:

If last two digits of any number divisible by 4 or last two digits are 00 then it will be divisible by 4.

Divisibility rule for 5:

If number ends with 0 or 5 then it will be divisible by 5.

If any number divisible by 2 and 3 both then it will be divisible by 6.

Divisibility rule for 7:

Double the last digit of a number and subtract it from remain number. If result divisible by 7 then number will be divisible by 7.

Divisibility rule for 8:

If last three digits of any number divisible by 8 then it will be divisible by 8.

Divisibility rule for 9:

If sum of digits of a number divisible by 9 then number will be divisible by 9.

Divisibility rule for 10:
